ERT Wins GSA 8(a) STARS II Contract Vehicle

August 31, 2011— ERT has received an award on GSA 8(a) Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services II (STARS II)—a small business set-aside Government wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). With a $10 billion program ceiling and a five-year base period with one five-year option, 8(a) STARS II allows for long-term planning of large-scale program requirements while strengthening opportunities for 8(a) small businesses.

The scope of the 8(a) STARS II GWAC is centered on four functional areas. ERT will be able to bid on contracts in the areas of Custom Computer Programming Services, Computer Systems Design Services, Computer Facilities Management Services, and Other Computer Related Services. The 8(a) STARS II vehicle was divided up into two tiers, known as constellations. Constellation I includes prime contractors who are technically proficient and offer competitive pricing. Constellation II prime contractors provide the same strengths as Constellation I, plus the added benefit of either a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level II+ Services or Development credential, or an ISO 9001:2000 or 9001:2008 credential. As ERT is ISO 9001:2000 and CMMI Level-II certified, ERT holds positions in both constellations.

“We are pleased to have been selected for this contract,” said Dr. Jingli Yang, ERT’s CEO. “It gives us the opportunity to pursue tasks in our core business areas—scientific programming, software and system development, data center support, and others mission IT support— in our existing customer space as well as in other government agencies where we do not yet have a presence.” spacer
